Karnataka Chief Minister asks legislator to apologise to Christians

BELGAUM: Chief minister B S Yeddyurappa on Wednesday asked Khanapur MLA Prahlad Remani to apologize to Christians in writing for his derogatory remarks against them.
But Remani told reporters that he wouldn't apologize as he stood by whatever he said.


Saffron terror behind many blasts: Indian Home Minister Chidambaram

New Delhi: Addressing a meet of police chiefs on Wednesday, Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said that saffron terror was behind many bomb blasts.

"A new phenomenon of "saffron terrorism" has been discovered," the minister said.

Speaking on internal security, the minister also raised the cross-border infiltration issue. "There has been no let-up in attempts by militants to infiltrate into India," he said.


Kandhamal victims still face intimidation-Peoples tribunal

A ‘people’s tribunal’ on Tuesday said the victims of 2008 Kandhamal communal violence in Orissa continue to be intimidated and “systematically” denied protection and access to justice, recommending that State government must protect those affected and the witnesses of the cases.
