INDIA’S north-eastern state Orissa continues to be in grip of gory anti-Christian riots. Scores of Christians, including some nuns have been burnt alive. Countless churches, houses and shops have been gutted. Even Christian orphanages have not been spared. To justify massacre of hapless Christians, Hindus spread the canard that eminent Hindu leader, Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati, had been killed by Christians on Saturday night. Kandhamal district was the epicentre of the communal riots. Most of the Christians were killed there.
On 26th May, the grotto of Mother Rosario was damaged in Majalubettu in Pilar village, within the jurisdiction of Shirva police station Udupi.
The left and right hands of the statue in the grotto as well as the protective glass covering had been shattered in the incident
GCIC states that in spite of all the reassurance of protection given by the State Administration, Christian Places of Worship continue to be Desecrated and Damaged.

Rameswaram (TN) May 28 (PTI) A Christian prayer hall, allegedly built in violation of government rules, was today demolished by revenue department at Dhanushkodi area near here, officials said. The government had banned new constructions after tidal waves lashed the area in 1964. Pr Joshi is pasturing the church and has about 600 families.
Besides, strict rules banning construction near the sea was enforced after the 2004 Tsunami, they said. A church official is being questioned in connection with the construction, they said.
