Catholic women leaders have drawn inspiration from the faith shown by survivors of the violent anti-Christian Kandhamal attacks when they recently visited the region in the eastern Indian state of Odisha.

Kandhamal Old Christian couple’s killing draws( Orissa Human Rights commission (OHRC) ire against police

BHUBANESWAR: Even as the Odisha Police received severe flak for Gumudumaha police firing in July last year, Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Tuesday rapped the former over the killing of an old Christian couple during a reportedly anti-Naxal operation under Kotagada police limits of Kandhamal in 2015.
OHRC Acting Chairperson Justice BK Mishra directed the Government to pay a compensation of Rs 10( One Million) lakh to kin of Dubeswar Nayak and his wife Bubhudi and sought compliance within two months.


Kandhamal fast tract courts terminated,seven falsely accused languish in Phulbani jail

The Judge at Fast Track Court (Phulbani), intentionally delayed hearing the case. He dragged on the case till His court was terminated. Fast Track Courts constituted to try Kandhamal riot cases were terminated w e f 01/04/13. Now case is transfered to regular court - the Sessions Court. It is a fact that cases delay at regular courts. Now it is put up for arguments by prosecution, doh 22/5/13.The illegally detained Prisoners have completed more than 4 and a half years in prison.
