Ganadala, Raichur, Karnataka: 09-09-2013 – Supritha is a 17 year old Dalit Christian girl living with her mother, Manikkamma (54), and her elder brother Jayapal, in a small hut in Ganadala Village, Raichur Taluk of Raichur District. Her father, Doddanarasappa died a few years ago. They belong to the most backward Scheduled Caste Madiga sub-caste among the dalits, and eke out their living as coolies, daily labourers, working in the nearby fields on daily wages.

Maharajahatti Village, Jagalur Taluk, Davanagere District, Karnataka: 07-09-2013 - Pastor Kotresh is in charge of a House Church called “Yesu Preetisuthaane Church” at Chittakkanahally, Kudalgi Taluk in Bellary District of Karnataka. He regularly visits about 200 small villages in the two districts of Bellary and Davanagere carrying the good news of Christ to these villagers. He teaches them the purpose of our life on earth, to follow the principles of morality in our behavior and also to be good citizens. On Thursday, 22nd August 2013, he had organized a prayer meeting in the house of Venkatesh, a believer, in Maharajahatti village in jagalur Taluk of Davanagere District, at 6 pm. About 40 believers were attending the meeting.

Besides running a Kannada medium school, the St. Thomas School, they also have a Children’s Compassion Home at Haladipur, where they cater to the needs of about 60 poor orphan children giving them food, clothes and also helping them through tuition classes in the evenings and holidays. The children who belong to all religious backgrounds go back to their respective homes in the evening after an early meal.
