Accused in Hand chopping of Christian professor involved in terrorism-Probe agencies

Popular Front of India activists were arrested in connections with the chopping of hand of Kerala Professor T J Joseph accusing him of blasphemy. The PFI activists were arrested for some communal murders in the state too. In July 2010, the police have seized country made bombs, weapons , CDs and document containing Taliban and Al Qaeda propaganda from PFI activists. The organisation started in November 2006 as a confederation of National Development Front of Kerala, Manitha Neethi Pasari and Karnataka Forum for Dignity, later expanded their base and become a pan-India organisation. In 2012, Kerala government imposed ban on the Freedom parade conducted by PFI

Kerala University claims 150 year old Church of South India property

Reacting to the Kerala University raising claim over the property, representatives of the CSI Christ Church said neither the university nor the government has any right over the church building and surrounding properties under its possession."The church cemetery was established in 1814 and the present church building was built in 1854. It was the Maharaja of the erstwhile Travancore who gifted the land to the church with tax exemption. This was one reason why the church authorities did not bother very much about obtaining the assignment of the land from the government.

Majority of muslims in Kerala want to reduce marriage age for Muslim girls to 14

Kochi: Some influential Muslim groups(includes partner of the current ruling front in Kerala) in Kerala have decided to approach the Supreme Court to get marriageable age of girls in the community lowered from 18 and they claim that the marriage age is not stipulated in their scriptures. They want the age to be lowered to 14.

GLOBAL COUNCIL OF INDIAN CHRISTIANS (GCIC) mourns demise of Advocate MG Mathew, a Christian Human rights activist ,thinker and author of over a dozen books . Kota police from Rajasthan framed false charges against Adv. MG Mathew under section 153 A . This is on a fabricated charge regarding publication of a book called " a bunch of truths` and its Hindi version Akkikath.
