Odisha girl Linkan Subudhi brutally attacked in Noida
New Delhi: An Odia girl, who is working as a social activist in a New Delhi-based organisation, was brutally attacked by two persons while she was going to rescue an 11-year-old girl who was forced by her family members to marry at such a minor age.

New Delhi: In a South Delhi neighborhood, the sound of a man reciting Dari, a Farsi dialect spoken in Afghanistan, over a loudspeaker attached to a modest two-story building rose over the din of vegetable hawkers. The building was a church run by Afghan refugees who had converted to Christianity. The man was a young Afghan priest reading the Bible before a Sunday service in its basement.

New Delhi: Nobel laureate Amartya Sen has come out strongly against Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP poll panel chief Narendra Modi saying he would not like to see Modi as the Prime Minister of India.
Speaking exclusively to CNN-IBN Deputy Editor Sagarika Ghose, Sen said, "As an Indian citizen I don't want Modi as my PM, he has not done enough to make minorities feel safe."

NEW DELHI: BJP chief Rajnath Singh has stirred up a huge controversy with his comment that English has caused a great loss to India by eroding its cultural values and stymieing the growth of Sanskrit in the country. The comment was greeted with derision by intellectuals and political leaders on Friday.
A television report showed Singh as saying: "We have started forgetting our religion and culture these days. There are only 14,000 people left in this country speaking in Sanskrit. Knowledge acquired out of English is not harmful but the Anglicization penetrated into the youth is dangerous.
