Two acquitted in Graham Staines murder case


BHUBANESWAR: In a jolt to CBI, a trial court here on Wednesday acquitted Ghanashyam Mohanta and Ranjan Mohanta, whom the investigating agency had chargesheeted along with 16 others in the killing of Australian missionary Graham Staines and his two minor sons in Keonjhar's Manoharpur village in 1999.

Cyclonic storm Phailin to hit Odisha and AP-Seeks Prayer support

Cyclonic storm Phailin, the strongest to hit India in more than a decade and classified as 'very severe' so far, is closing in towards coastal Odisha and Andhra Pradesh at wind speeds averaging 200-220 km per hour and is expected to hit the two states between 6 pm and 8 pm tonight. The storm, likely to affect around 1.2 crore people, has triggered mass exodus in at least seven districts of the two states.
Officials said the storm was verging on becoming a "super cyclone."
