Leading up to and during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Washington DC, Jubilee Campaign will be helping bring attention to the India's widespread religious freedom violations. We are volunteering alongside the Federation of Indian American Christian Organizations (FIACONA) to provide an information booth on the continuous persecution that Christians face in India. The booth will be located near Union Station along Delaware Ave NE. It will be set up every day from 9 a.m- 6 p.m. until June 10th. There will also be a prayer vigil set up in DC outside of the United Methodist Building (100 Maryland Ave NE, Washington, DC 20002) this Wednesday, June 8 from 9a.m. - 12p.m. Please stop by!

Top US Senators voice concern over religious freedom in India

Some of the members also raised the issue of denying visas to the members of the US Commission on International Religious Freedom.

Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit, top US Senators have expressed deep concern over religious freedom, increasing attack on civil society and human rights in India with the Obama Administration saying it was having a dialogue with the country on these issues.
"The situation does raise concern about religious freedom in India," Colorado Senator Cory Gardner said during a Congressional hearing on India convened by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

Lahore led the Diocesan priests to India for a four day conference on the topic of Ecclesiastical Brotherhood.

On 18th April, 2016 in his welcoming address at the Archbishop’s House New Delhi, Archbishop Anil Joseph Thomas Couto of Delhi said that he was happy to see some familiar faces whom he had met in Lahore in 2007 for the centenary of Sacred Heart Cathedral, Lahore and 2012 for the ceremony of Bishop Joseph Coutts to become the Archbishop of Karachi. He said that he was enthusiastically happy to welcome the priests of the Archdiocese of Lahore. He said that it was the work of the Holy Spirit that the delegation of priests visited his Archdiocese coming from the neighboring Archdiocese of of Lahore first time after the partition of the Sub-continent. He said that he will visit Pakistan with his priests probably in 2017.
