Iran: Christian woman not released despite termination of sentence

With the completion of the prison sentence of prisoner of conscience Maryam Naghash Zargaran, her family were informed on Friday, July 28, 2017, to go to Evin Prison to receive their prisoner.
The family waited long hours, but prison authorities did not release Ms. Zargaran. Neither did they give a clear answer in response to Maryam Zargaran’s protest.

Four Iranian Christians jailed for attending a ‘house church’ have lost their judicial appeals.Mojtaba Seyyed Alaedin Hossein, Mohammad-Reza Partoei, Vahid Hakkani and Homayoun Shokouhi were each sentenced in June to three years and eight months in prison.Shokouhi’s wife Fariba and son Nima both received suspended sentences of two years’ imprisonment at the appeals-court hearing, which took place on Oct 12. in Shiraz.

Iranian security forces have detained a pastor and Gospel artist after raiding a house church in the capital Tehran, despite warnings he will die within days without adequate medical help, Iranian Christians said Sunday, December 30.
