Church refutes MP police claim suspect a Christian among SIMI

The Church in central India has denied police claims that a youth arrested with nine other suspected members of a terror group is a Christian.Madhya Pradesh’s anti-terrorism police on Tuesday arrested ten suspected members of the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in Khandwa.

Fr.Thomas Chirattavayalil of Satna Diocese was attacked at midnight, December 16, by a group of armed men. Fr. Thomas said that someone knocked the door while he was sleeping.

"Un declared ban" on new church buildings in Madhya Pradesh

The Madhya Pradesh government has imposed “an undeclared ban” on new church buildings, although the Indian Constitution allows freedom of religion.
The government “allows only religious community halls. The administration refuses to allow churches to be built due to pressure from certain pro-Hindu organizations.The new place of worship has SHOULD neither have a cross on top nor a bell.
