The head of the Hindu ultra-nationalist group Rashtriya Sawayamsevak Sangh (RSS) states that "Hinduism does not accept conversions" because "they are not necessary." Global Council of Indian Christians (GCIC) president differentiates Hinduism from the Hindutva ideology in whose name the RSS engages in violence against India's religious minorities.

There can be no basis to distinguish between rural and urban India when it comes to crimes against women, union Home Secretary R.K. Singh said Friday following RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's remark that "westernisation" in Indian cities was the reason behind increasing cases of rape.


Mayhem at Malwan Town in Maharashtra

Malwan, Sindhudurg Dt., Maharashtra: 06-12-2012 – On December 2nd, 2012, the Sunday worship was attacked by a mob of over 200 Hindu fundamentalists and the believers who had gathered for the prayer meeting in the evening, were forcibly confined to the house of Pastor Mathias for almost four hours. The Hindu radicals locked the door, surrounded the bungalow and hurled filthy abuses at them. In the face of the angry mob, Pastor Anand Chowgule, sensing that the volatile situation would get out of hand and fearing for the lives of the believers, called the police who came and dispersed the mob. Late on Sunday night again they tried to attack them. Pastor Mathias’ wife noticed the miscreants returning and trying to set fire to their Scorpio jeep, which is being used for purposes of ministry work. She raised an alarm and the goons fled.
