August 26, 2010, the birth centenary of Mother Teresa-GCIC celebrates her life and mission
This day marks the birth centenary of a simple nun who, through her work among the poorest of the poor, became the conscience-keeper of her century.
Today, August 26, 2010, the birth centenary of Mother Teresa will be marked with celebration and thanksgiving in many parts of the world. This simple nun with her unique brand of faith and compassion was able to alleviate loneliness, hunger and destitution by reaching out through a worldwide mission to millions of abandoned, homeless and dying destitutes, irrespective of their religion, caste, faith or denomination. In the process she became, indisputably, the conscience-keeper of her century.

Number 8 is the most wonderful number.Many people consider it as an un-lucky number.Persons born on 8,17 and 26 of any month bear birth number 8.Out of these,number 17 is believed to be highly lucky.Even traditional numerological texts do not consider 26 as lucky.But I do'nt consider so.
Number 8 is the most mystic number.It is represented by planet saturn.It has two extremes-the best and the worst,the most saintly and the red hot revolutionary.
I write this on the occasion of the birth centenary of Mother Teresa-the angel of mercy.The mother was born on August 26.Take the other end.Velupillai Prabhakaran was born on November 26!
