Bigoted Students Vandalize Catholic 'Little Flower Junior College in Hyderabad falsely accusing the College authorities of refusing to let them practice their religion.

The students mobilized the student= wing of pro-Hindu Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)damaged furniture and smashed windows and violently protested against the Monfort Brothers who manage the Christian Educational Institution.

The say the Montfort Brothers, who run college, had refused them permission to wear a black clothing, which has religious significance. The college denies the charge.

Men preparing for a pilgrimage to a popular temple in southern Indian state Kerala wear black clothes and grow beards as a sign of their abstention from worldly pleasures.

Student leaders spoke to local media saying the college management was “harsh” on earlier occasions too and did not allow students to practice their religion freely.

“We are not allowed to wear rings with pictures of deities and Muslim students are not allowed to wear skull caps,” a student leader told reporters.

College management says that some students who were denied permission to appear in an exam because of their poor attendance in classes, engineered the trouble with the help of outsiders.

Students who take pilgrimage may inform the college and they are allowed to wear the clothes they wish, College officials said.
