Bishops' council flays attack on CMS College,Kottayam-Kerala

KOCHI: (Kerala)The Kerala Catholic Bishops' Council has slammed the attack on CMS College, Kottayam, as a challenge to the rule of law and encroachment on the rights of the minority communities.

A statement from KCBC claimed here that the attack on the college was yet another example of the increasing attacks on minority communities and that the latest incident was carried out in collusion with the powers that be.

Collusion alleged

The collusion of those ruling the State in the incident was quite evident in the reactions by some of the leaders, the statement claimed. The Christian educational institutions were being singled out for attacks. The attack was a cause for pain and a matter of concern as the management had only acted against a student, who had seriously breached the college discipline.

Global council of Indian Christians(GCIC) urges government should come forward to punish those anti-social elements within the educational institutions who take law into their own hands in the name of political activities
