Orissa High Court acquits BJP MLA in Kandhamal violence case

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court acquitted the BJP legislature Manoj Pradhan in the house ransacking case. One Suryakant Digal filed a FIR against legislature Sri Pradhan alleging that he had ransacked his house and set fire in October 2008 during the Kandhamal violence. The Police had registered case against Sri Pradhan under Section 147,148,149,446 ,446 and 506 of the IPC.

The First track court of Phulbani acquitted him in October 2009 on the ground there is no proof of his involvement. Later Sri Digal moved in the Orissa High Court changing the order.
