This family has been serving the Lord in Kodli village, Siddapura Taluk, Dt. Uttara Kannada for the past 3 years. Has visited about 15 villages. 20 believers come to his house church in Kodli. On 2nd Feb. 2012, 3 police men in civil dress along with a radical leader came around 4 p.m. and without any prior information and searched Pasor Kiran Thippanna Das's house. They took some tracts and Bibles and questioned about his work. They took away his two wheeler, some of his books and Bibles and ask him to come to meet the Inspector when they phone him. After 3 days a phone call from the Police station was received. He was asked to meet PSI Almurthy. He went to the station. The PSI said that he had received complaints from villagers that he was converting people to Christianity and was asked to pack his things and leave the village within 24 hours or to jail.
The pastor then Contacted Pastor L.N. Gowda, state co ordinator of Global Council of Indian Christians(GCIC) who inturn contacted the PSI and spoke to him about Human Rights and Legal matters could arise out of his questionable act on behalf of the hindu radicals. Then by God's grace the PSI had a change of mind and yesterday evening sent for the Pastor and spoke to him kindly and said that he could ask them their protection and help in the work he is doing. This is the Lord's doing.
