10th July Saturday morning as Christians were visiting houses, a group of hostile people began to argue with them and then started beating them with their fists and shoes. They took four Brothers and beaten them very badly and locked them in a Doctors clinic. Later they called the Police and handed them over to police complaining that they are converting people from Hindu Religion to Christian Religion.

They caught three more Brothers and five Sisters of our team and handed over them to the Police.

On hearing the news Pastor Promod Samuel along with A.M.Samuel went to the Gurdaspur City Police Station .

The City Police took both these Christians into their custody. The Shiva Sena President, Bajarang Dal President, RSS Shaka leader and many other Hindu leaders assembled in the Police Station and began to put pressure on the Police authorities to file a court case against us and put us in Jail– 9 Brothers including A.M.Samuel and Pastor Promod and 5 Sisters – total 14

Hearing the news about the arrest, leaders from Christian Community of Gurdaspur also came to City Police Station. By the after noon the situation became very tense. The leaders from Christian community requested the Police authorities to release the Christians.

However, the pressures of Hindu leaders were so strong that the Police officials refused to release them . By the evening many believers and Pastors also assembled in front of the Police Station. Many people from Hindu Community also gathered there.

Later on, before dark the Police Officials released all the Christians
