They are all believers having accepted Jesus during the last 5 to 10 years. The first three are also actively working for spreading the good news in their spare time. All of them belong to the Full Gospel Church, a house church at a village called Pallipete.
On Tuesday, 11-10-2011, sometime in the evening at about 7 pm, all of them gathered together at a believer’s residence for a prayer meeting. Just as they were about to begin their prayers, a group of angry Sangh Parivar activists forcibly entered the house and attacked them. They began abusing them using the filthiest language and destroyed all the cycles parked outside the house. They also alleged that they are forcibly and fraudulently converting people to Christianity. In the meanwhile, they also lodged a police complaint with the Polibetta Police Outpost.
The police who arrived soon after, arrested them took them to the Siddapura Police Station and conducted the inquiry. They were kept overnight in the Police station. On Wednesday, 12-10-11 morning they were charge-sheeted them under section 295 (A) of IPC, and produced before the Virajpet Magistrate at about 11 am. The GCIC, which is seized of the matter, has hired the services of a lawyer, who has already filed the necessary bail application, is making all efforts to get them bailed out. Please pray for them.
