Happy Easter.Blessing of the risen Lord
This passion week we join our brothers and sisters in Kenya in grieving the execution of 147 Christian students at the Garissa University College in the north east of Kenya by terrorists affiliated with the Al-Shabaab extremist group in neighboring Somalia. We lift our prayers for the victims' families, for survivors, and for all of the citizens of Kenya who have lost hundreds of their citizens to Al-Shabaab in recent years.
Let us together reflect on the crucifixion and and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. His sacrificial death atoned for the sins of mankind and made reconciliation possible between God and man, extending an invitation for eternal life with Him for all who believe. The hope we have in a new life in Christ here on earth as well as for eternity provides an antithesis to the deep pain and grief of affliction by acts of terrorism in Kenya and other countries,
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
