I'm greatly mourned, as in writing this editorial. The recent atrocities done against Professor T.J. Joseph a teacher in New Man's college in Thodupuzha was an eye gauging incident. He was humiliated, his children assaulted by the police and family constantly threatened resulting in severing his hands. Why did this happen? The only explanation the radical Muslim outfits could provide was using the name of the prophet in the questionnaire.

“A good teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others”, is the better quote for Professor Joseph. His only motto all through his life was to give better education to students from all walks of life.
People who advocate peace and preach respect to woman have intentionally pushed Professor's 92 year old mother and sister, a nun who has always prayed and worked for the betterment of the society and people no matter of what religion they belong to. What has given me a shock is that they were returning from church when attacked with knives, swords and creating tension by exploding smoke bombs. His palm was cut off and thrown 200 meters away. Is there a government looking after the safety of people? The state has no law and order. Kerala is being consumed by the Sharia law and transforming into safe havens for the Islamic militants.
People are wondering whether there is really justice and righteousness in God's own country? Incidents are sparkling over without control, institutions are not able to maintain discipline due to these unfortunate events. People are living in constant fear of life. According to Prophet Mohammed “Kindness is a mark of faith, and whoever is not kind has no faith. Does that mean these self styled custodians of religion have no faith?
It is sad for a nation that was born 60 years ago with the ethos of Ahimsa, non-violence, and as Gandhiji epitomized, the culture of Santana Dharma (Universal family). But now, it has become a 'crucible' where fanatics and jihadis and their devotees are boiling the Indian reputation for “tolerance”, for peaceful coexistence. If this is peaceful coexistence, please tell me, is this also dharma? When peaceful citizens going about their prayers are set upon by armed gangs, when a mother, an elderly nun and a devoted teacher are targeted for jaundiced attentions of a prejudiced police department, and jailed for innocence against the spirit of the Indian constitution? Can we say that Anarchy is upon us?
“And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you” (Ephesians 4:32). This verse that should be the foundation of a person in Christ, and Professor Joseph by his words, “I have forgiven the attackers”, has become a true follower of Christ.
