BJP pushes anti-conversion law in Indian state of Jharkhand

Bharatiya Janata Party maintains Christian missionaries' service in education and health are a cover to attract the poor.The ruling pro-Hindu party in eastern India's majority-tribal Jharkhand state has pushed for an anti-conversion law that church leaders fear will be used to intensify the harassment of local Christians.

The Indian government have reportedly refused to give extension visas to Christian missionaries, forcing two Indian parliamentarians – Vincent H.Pala and Conrad K.Sangma – to take up the matter with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
